Social LIFE - 10 Things you need to know

Social LIFE

1) Social LIFE is a small group structure that replaces LIFE at Kerith on a Friday night around 3 times a term.

2) SL is great opportunity to meet with Jesus and your friends at the same time. We realise that small groups are a great place to build relationships and feel part of the LIFE family.

3) Social LIFE's take place all over Bracknell in designated 'Safehouses'. I will write another post with the list of Safehouses.

4)Each house has a CRB’ed parent who will be around for the duration of the event

5) Younge People also have a great opportunity to grow in leadership by leading their own SL

6) If you would like to start your own please email liam.parker@kerith.co.uk

7) You will have to arrange your own transport for these events

8) Please respect the house and the house owner when you attend a SL

9) Need help getting in contact with a safehouse email liam.parker@kerith.co.uk

10) Look at website or twitter for updates about these events

Matthew 18:20 -

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

No LIFE this week but........

There is no LIFE this week because the church is hosting a conference which means that we can't use the building. We will be back the week after and throughout the rest of October thought so dont be to upset. If you want to know what we have planned for the rest of term you can check out www.kerith.co.uk/youth and look at the "events" section, this should give you at least an idea of what we are running. You can also check this blog regularly to get some more details about the events posted.

You may have strong feelings of overwhelming sadness right now but fear not people of LIFE! because this sunday between 4:30-6 at K2, Next Steps will be running! and this week at Next Steps we have a special guest coming to speak to us. I am personally really excited about this because the special guest is my DAD! AHHHHH! buzzing! My Dad is going to speaking to us about how we can best honour our parents and gives us an opportunity to hear things from a parents point of view! Just in case your not sure about whether you should come I thought I would let you in on a little secret.... My dad is the greatest person ever to live, fact. Be there.

Feel free to contact the LIFE team at LIFEline@kerith.co.uk if you have any questions

Awkward Turtle and LoT

Couple of updates for y'all!

Awkward Turtle - So this night is a completely new night for us so I hope you enjoy it. The plan is that we create a space where people ask any questions they have about Christianity and we can all talk about them! Amen? - Also to make it fun an awkward we are going to create our own version of the game show "The Cube" by doing games inside the football cage! Its gonna be awkward, there will also be a few surprises as always!

LoT - 30th of September we are taking LIFE on Tour to Yateley again. We do have a problem this time though because we can't take as many as we did last time, in fact there are only 50 spaces on the coach so it will be first come first serve. The reason we can't take as many is because the hall that we have only holds a certain number and we want loads of Yateley guys to come. If you would like to come you need to write on LIFE's wall asking for your ticket or you can organise a lift to actually take you to the school in Yateley. Remember that if you come to LoT on the coach you NEED your parent consent form which you can download here.

Old SKool LIFE - For those who aren't able to make LoT we are still going to run LIFE however to make it fun we decided we are going to run an Old SKool (School with a "K" woop woop) LIFE in K2. This will bring back some lovely memories for all involved and for some they will be able to see how we started out. More info on this will be posted next week.

Hope this makes sense - feel free to message LIFE is not.

I'm Excited about LIFE! - Georgia Ratford

I'm totally buzzing for LIFE this term, Because i feel that there is going to be a real impact on bracknell during this year. LIFE had grown from 30 youth in k2 to over 200 youth gathering regularly, this term im expecting to see LIFE grow and change, with more people being impacted by the words of god and the preaches of liam and other LIFE leaders.

This term im really excited about more people getting saved and giving their lives to Jesus, my lifegroup have helped this by inviting people from school to LIFE's second birthday. In my view LIFE is a gateway through which people can learn about god and be touched by his presence by the way that they present Gods love and messages through dramas and worship. The preaches of the LIFE leaders help to spread the message of the bible in the youth who normally wouldnt read them and can help to bring people closer to god. People who have come to life are getting baptised next week, the change in their lives from non christian background to being ready to publically declare their faith, shows the true value of LIFE. The prayer storms help people to grow in faith. people who arent christian are intrigued by what we do and it can help them get involved and want to understand what it is, i believe that this is such a good evening and it always gets such a response and people give their life to jesus.

I am really excited to see LIFE go on tour this september and november, LIFE on tour is a great way to spread what LIFE is about and how it has impacted people and watching people in yately and other places realise that LIFE is becoming something big and revolutionary. It was great to see new people intrested in the word of the bible at LIFE on tour, i feel that LIFE is going to bring something amazing to LIFE on tour in september, and we're going to watch people's lives be changed.

LIFE is really good for meeting new people, finding out more about them and telling them about how god has impacted your life. Its really great when people bring friends to rave's because everyone seems to bond at raves and everyone shows who they are and its such a great time, its good that LIFE has such a fun side to it all the crazy things that happen, including all the things that have happened for project125.

Im really excited for this term and im hoping that lots of people come and are impacted and lives are saved

god bless :)

How we are starting this term.

9th September - Vision Night - I think it is always best that before we start meeting as LIFE we should make sure that we are all on the same page and going the same direction, wso we are having a vision night to make sure that we all have the same... well Vision! Anyone is welcome to this event this includes: all LIFe-er's, Church members, youth pastors and most importantly your parents! we would like to see a whole bunch of parents at the LIFE Vision night. So stop reading this blog right now and go and invite them, tell them that it runs from 7-9 and will give them space to ask questions and get a feel for what LIFE is all about.

16th September - LIFE's 2nd Birthday - On the 16th we will be celebrating LIFE's 2nd year of building the kingdom of God and we have got a lot to celebrate! We now run a youth event that reaches 300 young people on a weekly basis and 1000 on a term basis. We are impacting youth groups all over the country and the leaders are speaking at all kinds of events. We are now taking LIFE on Tour and impacting local youth groups and of course we have raised over £20,000 for Project 125.....I mean come on this is fantastic! This is so fantastic that we want a whole bunch of people to celebrate with us. Any young person is welcome to this event but we would like to extend a special invite to anyone who has been to LIFE before but left for some reason. It doesn't matter whether you have only been at LIFE once or if you have been there 100 times everyone has been part of this journey and we want everyone involved in the celebration.

If we keep growing like this sooner or later we will be gathering over 1000 young people. I would prefer it to be sooner, so get inviting.

Rocknations Buzz

For Mother's day this year my brother's and I brought my Mum 3 Chickens! She absolutely loves them and to be honest so do I. They are so funny to watch and they follow you around like obedient children which is cute. The Chickens, who are named: Barbie, Tikka and Nando love having people outside in the garden and get so excited when we go and say "Hi". We have now had them for a couple of months and they are starting to notice when someone inside the house is coming out to see them, the other day I just turned the key in our back door and they all went mad they started running up down the coop, clucking really loud and flapping their wings. However what was really funny to watch was how Nando got so excited that she just ran straight into the fence at full speed! Crazy chicken, I can see where the saying " run around like a headless chickens" comes from.

The reason I am writing about my favourite chicken Nando is because I would like to use her crazy, exciting life as an illustration about how we can sometimes act when we are getting all buzzed up before a big event.
Here are Nandos life lessons:

1) Let yourself get excited when you hear the key! - We should all be seriously excited because we are all going away together and we are going to spend 4 days seeking, worshipping, learning and soaking in God's presence and the idea of doing this with our friends should excite us so much that we just have to run around, scream and shout.

2) Be careful when your flapping your wings not to hurt anyone - When we get proper excited the immediate problem can be that we forget about the people around us because we are so focused on being excited. So remember to tell your parents that you love them before you leave, remember to thank the leaders that got you to RN, remember to thank anyone from ALC for hosting this fantastic event and remember to be a support for friends so that they can be excited with you - excitement isn't fun on your own.

3) Don't forget about the fence! - Nando got into a little problem when she forgot about the fence and ran into it, as she tried to regain balance and dignity she lost some of that excitement! let's make sure that we don't forget about anything, for example:
  • Parental Consent forms
  • Lunch for the coach ride tomorrow
  • Setting an alarm to be at Kerith for 8:30am tomorrow morning
  • Bibles, Notepads and pens - If God is gonna speak, your going to want to write it down
If you forget these types of things it will hinder the fullness of the experience you can have so don't run into the fence and don't leave anything behind.

I am so excited about Rocknations! and the main reason I am excited about RN is because we all get to spend four days together just having a laugh and falling in love with Jesus all over again. I am so looking forward to just chilling out with everyone that is going. I seriously love the Kerith Youth!

Prayer for Life on Tour

Well the time has finally come! Life on tour starts tonight and I don't think it's a longshot to say that almost everyone in the South East region of England is excited about it! We are all expectant of what God is going to do tonight, people are going to be changed! So many people have put in such time and great effort in preperation for LOT that it's guaranteed to be a hit!

This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the passion for God and determination that all the Life leaders have. Eventhough various groups of people have tried to stop what is going on here, their perseveirance and faith in God had kept Life going. Which is why this blog is being written, to give people an understanding that this couldn't just happen. Without God being involved Life wouldn't be half as good as it is, which is why it is so crucial to pray for Life and what is happening on friday nights.

Prayer is what keeps us in such a close relationship with God and how we hear from him. I can't explain enough how excited I am for LOT to begin tonight, I can tell that God has amazing things in plan for everyone tonight, but I also can't explain how important it is to pray. To thank God for all he has blessed us with and to ask him to contiue blessing us as we try to get young people interested in Life, church and coming into a relationship with him. We have seen so many lives completely transformed already by what God has done at life and in their lives. We have had numerous people telling the leaders at Life stories of how their students behaviour has changed recently and it's all down to what God has been doing.

However, it isn't just going to stop there! If we are planning on making this a God sized plan, we need to keep praying and keep working on having all the schools in the Southern region of England commenting on the drasctic change in behaviour that the students are showing! We need to keep praying and keep asking God to bless what we are doing, to give us patience when things get difficlut and to give us wisdom to make the right descisions! We need to pray to ask him to give us more passion, and more fire so we can keep giving such a high standard of leadership to the young people that come to Life every week! We wouldn't be anywhere if it weren't for God so we need to keep him as included as possible.

We have a group of young people gathering together as a prayer team to pray for LOT. They gather and ask God to bless what is going on, that he would meet with he people that come and that they can feel his presense whilst they are there. They pray for salvation and healing, and they pray that they can come to Life knowing it is a safe environment for them to be themselves with no judgment
